A Comparative Analysis on Adaptive Modelling of Induced Feelings

Stimuli and activations of mental states usually induce emotional responses that are experienced by their associated feelings. This paper concentrates on how the the strengths by which such emotional responses are induced, depend on previous experiences. It presents a comparative analysis of three adaptive modelling approaches addressing how these induction strengths are adapted over time: Hebbian learning, temporal discounting and memory traces. Example simulation results are shown and commonalities and differences between the models are analysed.
